The Living Flame

The intent of Contemplative Outreach is to foster the process of transformation in Christ in one another through the practice of the Centering Prayer

The Living Flame program is designed to heighten the awareness of the dynamics of Centering Prayer in the context of the spiritual journey and offer guidance for staying faithful to one's Centering Prayer practice. It is an opportunity to share the conceptual background of Centering Prayer as well as experiential insights at a deeper level and to build a community committed to its daily practice. The Living Flame meets one Saturday a month during seven consecutive months. The program requires an established Centering Prayer practice and a commitment of traveling to the designated regional location for meetings. The Benefits of Centering Prayer

What is Centering Prayer and How Do We Do It?

Mary Dwyer provides a brief introduction to Centering Prayer.

The source of Centering Prayer, as in all methods leading to contemplative prayer, is the Indwelling Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The focus of Centering Prayer is the deepening of our relationship with the living Christ.
