Bill W’s reflection in his letter to a friend titled “Emotional Sobriety: the next frontier” is really the experience of everyone in recovery. Too often we are trapped in our own effort, blinded in a dark night, or lack the practical skills to help us navigate our emotions and find a connectedness to our Higher Power. Fr. Bill Sheehan will discuss the Welcoming Prayer practice in light of Bill W’s reflections. This retreat will review and build on the basic guidelines for Centering Prayer as an 11th step practice in opening us to silence and listening.
