Gratitude for the Old, Welcoming the New
The Governing Board Members would like to thank you, our prayer community, for your support the last several months as we discerned new oncoming members. This process was filled with hope and gratitude. We were thrilled and inspired by every individual who stepped forward to be in the discernment process. Each person was enthusiastic and had a host of experience and talent. We welcome the following new members in January 2016.
- Kathy Di Fede from San Diego has a two and one-half decade Centering Prayer practice, is a chapter coordinator and is an Introduction to Centering Prayer, Living Flame and Lectio Divina presenter.
- Tom Hall from Texas has a four decade Centering Prayer practice, has extensive experience presenting Centering Prayer and is an attorney.
- Tom Smith has a one decade Centering Prayer practice, has served the Tampa Bay, FL chapter in many capacities including co-coordinator and has a strong business background.
We will share more about them in future communications. We thank them and all the participants for their openness and generosity.
We are extremely grateful to and for the nominating committee members: Adal Henriquez, Susan Rush and Joanne Warner. Their energy and prayerful guidance exemplified servant leadership. Thanks to each one of you.
We also want to recognize and thank our three outgoing members: Fr. Carl Arico, Ron Barnett and Mark Nowak. These gentlemen have been hardworking and humble servants and we appreciate their many years of dedicated commitment. All of CO has been gifted by their tireless contributions. As a Contemplative Outreach founding member, Fr. Carl has been a constant guide who has served with passion, integrity, joy and deep love. Ron Barnett has been on the board since 2005. He has been a champion of ecumenical diversity, reaching out to youth and using technology to the fullest. Mark Nowak has been on the board since 2006. He has faithfully offered his time, resources and many talents including his legal advice with great generosity and humility.
The Board will be meeting January 15-22, 2016 in New Jersey. We will celebrate our members who are concluding their terms and look to the future. Again, we ask for and appreciate your prayers. If you would like to offer your input we would like to hear from you. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and please note BOARD in the subject line.
May this Advent and Christmas season bring you ever closer to Christ dwelling within.
Fr. Carl Arico, Ronald Barnett, Nicholas Cole, Mary Dwyer, Mark Nowak, Lois Snowden and Fr. Gilberto Walker
