Doing Centering Prayer has opened me a great deal to other people and to understanding fully that God loves each of us, God lives in us completely, and loves us totally, and that every person is just fine the way they are. This practice of Centering Prayer has led to a ministry of listening, that I don’t think I would have had otherwise. And it just allows me to be present with people without trying to fix anything, or give advice, or tell people they’re doing a good job, or judge anything. So, it’s been a wonderful ministry to be part of that listening practice and it also helps me in my own life – the people in my own life, my relatives, my friends, because I am much more able to just listen to people without any agenda and they notice that. They will say things to me like: Thanks, you don’t give me advice anymore. I really appreciate that. It’s just an easier thing to do because of Centering Prayer, I think.
