Description of the Finance and Legal Team:
The volunteers who serve on the Finance and Legal Team have the responsibility of overseeing the financial operations of our organism and fulfilling the legal requirements to maintain our non-profit status, as well as working closely with the Council and the Staff for holding the Vision and guiding the Keating legacy
–previously was the Governing Board; we are in the process of transitioning to a nonhierarchical form of leadership for Contemplative Outreach Ltd with the new Council of Servant Leadership
–we fulfill team officer positions as outlined in our Bylaws (facilitator, secretary, treasurer)
–one of our members connects our group to the Council by participating in their activities
–one of our members serves on the Committee for the Thomas Keating Gift
Candidate qualities for this volunteer position of service to our community:
–desire to be led by the Holy Spirit
–grounded in Centering Prayer for many years
–thorough understanding of the Vision and Guidelines for Service of Contemplative Outreach
–experience in formation that aligns with the teaching of Thomas Keating
–knowledge of the inner workings of Contemplative Outreach Limited (COL)
–understanding of and willingness to participate in consensus
— have time to participate in monthly Zoom meetings and take on other responsibilities as they come up; includes correspondence by email, occasional meetings with staff members or volunteers, being part of small groups that take on various tasks
–understand that roles/responsibilities may change in accordance with our evolution in leadership
–be willing to make a 3 year commitment
