The intention of hosting Contemplative Outreach events is to share the joy of giving and receiving support so that the graces of Centering Prayer and contemplative practices are experienced by more people throughout the world and to support one another in the transformational work of the Holy Spirit. Since its inception, Contemplative Outreach has hosted a variety of events whose objective is to share the method of Centering Prayer and to serve the needs of those who are called to the contemplative dimension of the Gospel.
This document contains new appointment guidelines and the process for choosing and setting up local volunteer coordinators.
If you are establishing a new Chapter there are some preliminary steps required to be able to act as a non-profit organization with legal privileges. Chapters operate under the auspices of Contemplative Outreach, Ltd. and are extended privileges by virtue of Contemplative Outreach, Ltd. legal not-for-profit status.
The purpose of this handbook is to provide structure, resources, and tools that a facilitator for a Centering Prayer group can use while supporting and empowering others on the spiritual journey.
