Centering Prayer Retreat
Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church
Silent Saturday - Nov. 4, 2017 ♱ 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 pm
Join us for a quiet day of prayer and reflection. Romans 12:12 calls us to: “rejoice in hope, persevere in tribulation, be devoted to prayer”
Dr. Bob Olsen, will speak on a Psychologist Perspective of Centering Prayer: The challenges and rewards of the Centering Prayer practice, practice support and for some, “why the struggle is real”, so do not give up on your practice!
Bob, a retired college psychology professor and practicing psycologist, has authored two books, one on creative thinking and the other on the enneagram. He’s lectured at many universities including Stanford. We are blessed to have him on board and look forward to hearing what he has to say in preparation for our time of silence. Dr. Olsen has also offered to lead a guided meditation on Gratefulness during our silent time.
During our silent time several Centering Prayer opportunities will be offered. The entire campus has been booked for this event. Rooms and all outdoor areas around the church campus will be available for you to breathe in the Living Spirit of God for journaling, walking a labyrinth, viewing a video presentation, or to just "be" in the presence. Visit our prayer room, prayer garden or swing in the play-yard, the campus is yours to enjoy.
We hope you can join us!
