Introduction to the Centering Prayer Silent Retreat

Date:
Fri, 18 Jan 2019

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This retreat is for those seeking to learn this practice of prayer for the first time or for those who want to renew or strengthen their practice during this weekend of silence and reflection. The Contemplative Ourtreach Birmingham Chapter presenters are Sr. Mary McGehee, OSB, and Joe Mahar. Joe will present an afternoon conference on Centering Prayer as the 11th Step for those attending any 12-Step programs.
