Introduction to Centering Prayer Workshop
Be still and know that I am God.
- Psalm 46:10
"Centering Prayer is a discipline to foster interior transformation, initiated by God and leading, if we consent, to divine union. One’s way of seeing reality changes, which empowers one to perceive and respond to everyday life with sensitivity to the dive presence in, through and beyond everything."
- Thomas Keating, Open Heart, Open Mind
About the Event
In this session, we will examine how Centering Prayer can deepen our relationship with God, others and ourselves. We will learn the method of Centering Prayer and how to deal with our thoughts during the prayer period. There will be two periods of Centering Prayer and a time for questions. A boxed lunch will be served.
Included in the workshop is the opportunity to attend six continuing sessions and the option to join a Centering Prayer to support your practice.
Tom Benson, Chapter Coordinator and Diane Popalis, Commissioned Presenter for Contemplative Outreach of Central NC.
All are welcome!
