One in the Heart of the World
The practice of Centering Prayer deepens our awareness of the oneness
of all creation and compassion for the whole human family.
— Contemplative Outreach Theological Principle #12
Dear Friend of Centering Prayer,
We have just made the passage through the Lenten journey: Through the graces of Lent and Easter, and out of the silence of Centering Prayer, we can see the reality of the oneness of being in a dance of mutual interdependence – giving and receiving. Just as chaos theory’s “butterfly effect,” a metaphorical example in which flapping butterfly wings could result in the formation of a hurricane, our cosmos appears to be system of relationships that are truly interdependent in ways that we are only beginning to understand. The resurrected life is now upon us. What we do matters.
We celebrate the movements of grace manifested daily in the thousands of minds and hearts touched by Centering Prayer, grateful for the work ahead, for the worldwide community of practitioners, and for the sustaining support of those whose generosity allows this work to flourish.
Aware of the grace of Easter, please join us in prayer, in the silence that heals, and generosity.
With a heart filled with gratitude,
Mary Anne Best
