Six Continuing Sessions to the Introduction to Centering Prayer: ZOOM ONLY
September 28, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free
“Centering Prayer is a practice that sensitizes us to God’s presence that is already there.”
– Thomas Keating
The inner world is not always familiar to us. Designed for beginners, longtime practitioners have benefited from revisiting the basics from a new level. Bring your questions as we together become grounded in this prayer based on the monastic practices of the desert.
The class consists of a 30-minute video teaching by Fr. Thomas Keating, and facilitated discussion. The book Open Mind Open Heart by Thomas Keating is the text to the class.
Fruits of Centering Prayer include:
• responding rather than reacting to the events of life
• nature our ability to live in the present moment
• develop a nonjudgmental attitude of ourselves and others
