SUMMARY:Centering Prayer Dual-Track Intensive Post-Intensive Retreat
DESCRIPTION:This retreat is an opportunity for practitioners of Centering Prayer to deepen their contemplative journey in the contemporary world. It is a week-long experience of integrating contemplation and action through silence\, solitude\, and community. \nThe retreat offers two tracks. The intensive track is recommended for people who have completed the introductory workshop and who have a regular practice of Centering Prayer. The post-intensive track is for those people who have previously made an eight-day intensive retreat. The post-intensive offers increased silence and additional periods of Centering Prayer. Both the intensive and post-intensive Centering Prayer retreat provide daily experiences of silence\, solitude\, walking\, hiking\, yoga\, and spiritual companionship to foster an ever-deepening level of interior silence and awareness of the presence of God in everyday life. \nScholarship assistance is available for those with financial need. Please contact St. Mary’s Sewanee for more information\, www.stmaryssewanee.org

SUMMARY:Lectio Divina Immersion Retreat
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 1st\, 2020\nLectio Divina Immersion Weekend Retreat\npresented via Zoom-online platform\nFriday\, August 7\, 2020\, 7:00 – 8:00 PM CDT\nSaturday\, August 8\, 2020\, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM CDT \nPresented by: The Contemplative Outreach Lectio Divina Service Team \n  \nThis online retreat provides an opportunity to explore and deepen one’s individual practice of Lectio Divina as a way of praying the scriptures in an online community. The traditional four moments of the prayer (reading\, reflecting\, responding and rest) are explored as expressions of the four senses of scripture: the literal\, allegorical\, behavioral/moral\, and unitive senses. The monastic form of Lectio Divina is used for both individual and group experiences of the prayer. Prayer times will be followed by small group faith sharing. The fruits and gifts of Becoming a Word of God will be explored using the Lectio Divina method on a personal life experience. \nOur time together includes periods of silent prayer\, such as Centering Prayer\, to support the praying of Holy Scripture. Profound silence helps us open our hearts and minds to hear with the ear of our hearts both the presented conference materials and the scripture we pray. \nTo Register\, go to: https://forms.gle/jjHAU9j3TqUgFMs86 \nAfter registration expect two emails. One sent in the near future confirming your registration. A second email will arrive the week of August 2 with a link to the retreat Zoom meeting. \nPlease consider making a donation to Contemplative Outreach here. \nFor additional information email Nancy Stimac. \nPresenter Training\nSaturday\, August 8\, 2020 @ 4:15 – 5:15 PM CDT\nWhen the Immersion Retreat concludes\, the service team will offer presenter training for qualified participants. One must be a Contemplative Outreach commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer. To learn more about this presenter training\, please email Mike Potter.
