At Bethany Retreat Center we are pleased to offer private retreats in a peaceful and beautiful setting where you can get away from the cares of everyday life and focus on your faith journey. You may come for a day\, overnight\, or a few days. Join the Sisters for prayer and daily Mass\, walk the grounds\, have opportunity for reconciliation and soul-friending. Enjoy home-cooked meals and a comfortable room in a nurturing environment.  We continue to take the COVID pandemic very seriously and are taking many safety precautions to keep you and our staff safe.  If you do not reside in a COVID “hot spot\,” and are not experiencing any symptoms\, or  have been around anyone that has been exposed to the virus\, you are welcome to come.  Call today! DESCRIPTION:St. Mary’s Sewanee invites you to spend time in prayerful silence and contemplation during this day-long Centering Prayer retreat led by the Rev. Tom Ward and Rebecca Paluzzi. \nThis event is modeled on the rhythm of the multi-day retreats that St. Mary’s Sewanee has offered for more than 20 years. In preparing this new retreat format\, we have learned that technology is capable of bringing us together in ways that we could not have anticipated. During this day\, you are encouraged to fast from listening to the news and using electronic devices so that you can make holy space to observe silence with the group and on your own. \nThe retreat will include: \nThree periods of Centering Prayer;\n–Morning and Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer;\n–Lectio Divina in a group setting; and\n–Generous breaks throughout the day for rest\, reflection\, and journaling. \nFor people new to Centering Prayer\, we encourage you to participate in the Introduction to Centering Prayer Workshop to learn the basics of the practice. \nThis event takes place via Zoom; to participate\, you must have internet access and a computer or tablet with an internet connection.
