DESCRIPTION:You are invited to take a day or days of personal retreat to focus on your “self care.” How are you taking care of yourself spiritually\, physically and emotionally? At Bethany Retreat Center we are pleased to offer private retreats in a peaceful and beautiful setting where you can get away from the cares of everyday life and focus on your faith journey. You may come for a day\, overnight\, or a few days. Join the Sisters for prayer and daily Mass\, walk the grounds\, have opportunity for reconciliation and soul-friending. Enjoy home-cooked meals and a comfortable room in a nurturing environment.  We continue to take the COVID pandemic very seriously and are taking many safety precautions to keep you and our staff safe.  If you do not reside in a COVID “hot spot\,” and are not experiencing any symptoms\, or  have been around anyone that has been exposed to the virus\, you are welcome to come.  Call today! DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL WEEKEND RETREAT SPONSORED BY CONTEMPLATIVE OUTREACH OF ST. LOUIS \nSusan Komis and Jim McElroy will facilitate this hybrid retreat by sharing their experience and insights of practicing and teaching Centering Prayer\, The Welcoming Prayer\, and the Human Condition. Susan will offer a reflection on Fr. Thomas’s most fundamental teaching\, The Human Condition\, and then offer her thoughts on the stages of spiritual growth from “The Awakening” to “The Sage”. Jim will provide an in-depth teaching of The Welcoming Prayer as the companion practice to Centering Prayer and as a method designed to facilitate the dismantling of the false self-system and living from present moment awareness. \nThe Welcoming Prayer is a method of consenting to God’s presence and action in our physical and emotional reactions to events and situations in daily life. It deepens our relationship with God and allows to more fully live in the eternal now.
