SUMMARY:Contemplative Living II: Daily Life as Prayer – via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Your life is hidden with Christ in God.\n– Colossians 3:3 \nFurther enrich your contemplative life and embrace the practice of living each day as a form of prayer. In Contemplative Living I (CL I) the focus is on deepening your interior prayer life\, leading to the awareness of God’s presence in all that is. In Contemplative Living II (CL II) the focus shifts towards increased intentionality in how you are living your daily life. You likely have a better understanding of what blocks you in deepening your relationship with God\, others\, and even with yourself. You are now more capable of looking at your part in relationships and what gets in the way of being and becoming the person God created you to be. Building on the contemplative practices learned in CL I\, in CL II you will assess where you are in your life and how you can make choices aligning with your authentic self. \nThe design of Contemplative Living II: Daily Life as Prayer: \nGaining contemplative attitudes and dispositions through \n\nContemplative Listening – a practice of active listening in group spiritual direction\, raising your awareness of the movements of the Divine within you and others.\nContemplative Discernment – a method of going to God with your questions and desires\, allowing the answers to find you\nContemplative Awareness related to Addictions\, Attachments and Aversion – using contemplative discernment to surface habit patterns that have become compulsions that you no longer freely choose\nThe Forgiveness Prayer – a prayer that guides you to follow Jesus’s example to live with hearts open to love\nContemplative Service – a vocation\, a calling\, or a way of life that’s rooted in living a contemplative life\nCommitment to a Contemplative Rule of Life – looking at the rhythm of life you’ve created in this course\, what practices have worked for you and that you will continue to commit to in the ordinary activities of your life\nContemplative Living Communities – the support we receive from community enhances our spiritual journey and is helpful to continue in some way at the end of the course\n\nPlease see the link below for more information and to register.

SUMMARY:9-Day Intensive\, Post Intensive Retreat
DESCRIPTION:This retreat offers three tracks simultaneously: Intensive I\, Intensive II and Post Intensive. For everyone\, there will be 3 sets of two 30 minute periods of Centering Prayer daily. Intensive I and Intensive II will watch video talks from Fr. Thomas Keating’s Spiritual Journey. Intensive I focuses on “The Human Condition and the Spiritual Journey”. Intensive II focuses on “Divine Love: The Heart of the Christian Spiritual Journey”. The Post Intensive has no videos and an additional hour of Centering Prayer each day. You choose the track that works best for you. Any of the tracks may be repeated multiple times. If this is your first Centering Prayer retreat of this length\, we suggest you choose Intensive I. We recommend attending Intensive I before Intensive II. \nLectio Divina and a contemplative Eucharist will be offered daily\, as well as optional soul-friending with the staff. Throughout the retreat\, we will be in silence. \nPre-requisite: A daily practice of Centering Prayer for 6 months or longer. \nThe retreat begins Wednesday\, March 19 with registration from 3:00 to 5:00\, an opening session at 5:00pm\, and dinner at 6:00pm. We end on Thursday\, March 27 at 11:00am (lunch optional). \nThe retreat will be facilitated by experienced Contemplative Outreach staff. For more information\, contact Marty Badgett at (650) 862-5451 or email him at mbadgettexas@gmail.com. \nIf you are traveling by air\, the Contemplative Outreach staff can arrange transportation to and from the Sacramento airport to the Mercy Center. Please book your arrival on the beginning day for 1:30pm or earlier and your departure on the ending day for 1:30pm or later. Let us know your flight information. A contribution of $25 per ride (cash\, check or Venmo) sustains this for us. \nLimited scholarship money is available to assist those who would otherwise be unable to attend. All of the scholarship money has been donated by former retreatants. \n
