SUMMARY:Sacred Circle Dance as a Form of Embodied Prayer
DESCRIPTION:“God is not remote from us; . . . on the contrary\, at every moment God awaits us in the activity\, the work to be done\, which every moment brings.”\n– Teilhard de Chardin\, Hymn of the Universe \nDuring this in-person half-day retreat we’ll introduce contemplative dances from the Sacred Circle Dance tradition. These simple movements\, done in a group setting\, can help us unite mind\, heart\, and body to deepen our prayer practice. Together we’ll explore how the combination of music and movement can be a companion to Centering Prayer\, in which we open our hearts to consent to God’s presence and action within us. \nPresented by Suzi Kindervatter\, former COMW team member and veteran teacher of Sacred Circle Dance\, and Linda Hall\, co-coordinator of COMW. \nPlease see the link below to register.

DESCRIPTION:In this season of new life and promise\, it is good to take a quiet morning for Centering Prayer and silence. The day is open to beginners as well as those experienced in contemplative prayer or silent meditation. The day provides time for communal prayers with contemplative walks\, and time for private journaling\, reflection\, and an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful grounds of Holy Spirit Retreat Center. All are welcome. A brief introduction to Centering Prayer will be offered for those new to the practice. \nRegistration online at hsrcenter.com is appreciated but not required.
