DESCRIPTION:Centering Prayer is a form of Christian silent meditation rooted in the self-emptying love that forms the heart of Jesus’ teaching and life. This retreat is an opportunity to deepen one’s contemplative journey in the contemporary world. The retreat offers two tracks: a five-day track\, recommended for individuals with an established and regular practice of Centering Prayer\, and an eight-day track\, intended for those who have maintained a regular practice of Centering Prayer and previously participated in an intensive retreat. The intensive and post-intensive tracks are available for the five-day; only the post-intensive track for the eight-day. The Intensive Retreat includes the human condition teachings of Fr. SUMMARY:Five-Day Intensive/Post-Intensive Centering Prayer Retreat
DESCRIPTION:In Contemplative Outreach (CO) Centering Prayer retreats\, practitioners are given an opportunity to deepen their practice and relationship with God by joining with others in community for the experience of immersion in contemplative prayer apart from ordinary life. Retreats are a way to take one’s relationship with God and one’s practice deeper. They offer time and space away from the busyness and demands of daily life\, and allow the mind\, body\, and spirit to surrender to God’s presence and action within. \nThis retreat will offer two tracks — Intensive and Post-Intensive. The retreat will be held at the Benedictine Hospitality Center in Ferdinand\, Indiana. \nThe Benedictine Hospitality Center is operated by the Sisters of St. Benedict\, one of the largest Benedictine communities of women in the United States.
