SUMMARY:Forgiveness Prayer Weekend Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Centering Prayer Retreat: Forgiveness Prayer \nSt. Joseph Retreat Center \n850 Hylan Blvd.\, Staten Island\, NY 10305 \nApril 24\, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – April 26\, 2020 @ 2:00 pm EDT \nFacilitated by Therese Saulnier \nArrival Friday 4:00 PM; Departure Sunday 2:00 PM \nOvernight Retreatants: $250 Single Occupant; $200 Double Occupant \nThree Day Commuter: $150 per person (A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due one week prior to retreat.) \nTo register or inquire about the retreat contact St. Joseph Retreat Center: www.daughtersofdivinecharity.org – stjretreatcenter@gmail.com – 718.720.1097 or see the flyer below under "Additional information."\n	 \n	Therese Saulnier is a long-standing member of Contemplative Outreach.  She has been praying Centering Prayer for over 30 years and praying the Forgiveness Prayer for over 25 years. Therese shares her experience that before she learned the Forgiveness Prayer she really did not know how to forgive.  Therese will share the process of forgiveness and share a way to open to God’s healing presence and action in our search for forgiveness – the Forgiveness Prayer.    There will also be Centering Prayer periods during the retreat.  \n\n	What is the Forgiveness Prayer? \n	Come to the Forgiveness Prayer Workshop and explore the need for forgiveness and the nature of forgiveness. Come to learn the Forgiveness Prayer\, a way to open to God’s healing presence and action when you are hurt\, wounded or offended. The Forgiveness Prayer is a prayer in which we open to God’s grace to learn to forgive.  \n\n	When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray\, he taught them the Lord’s Prayer. In this prayer Jesus teaches us that forgiveness is one of the essential conditions out of which all of our prayer must proceed if it is to be acceptable to God. \n	The command is clear: if you are a Christian\, you must forgive. But there are two very powerful\, often problematic questions involved with this imperative: \n	How do I forgive? What if I want to forgive but cannot?  \n\n	Experience with Centering Prayer is suggested for participants.

SUMMARY:Lectio Divina Immersion Retreat
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 1st\, 2020\nLectio Divina Immersion Weekend Retreat\npresented via Zoom-online platform\nFriday\, August 7\, 2020\, 7:00 – 8:00 PM CDT\nSaturday\, August 8\, 2020\, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM CDT \nPresented by: The Contemplative Outreach Lectio Divina Service Team \n  \nThis online retreat provides an opportunity to explore and deepen one’s individual practice of Lectio Divina as a way of praying the scriptures in an online community. The traditional four moments of the prayer (reading\, reflecting\, responding and rest) are explored as expressions of the four senses of scripture: the literal\, allegorical\, behavioral/moral\, and unitive senses. The monastic form of Lectio Divina is used for both individual and group experiences of the prayer. Prayer times will be followed by small group faith sharing. The fruits and gifts of Becoming a Word of God will be explored using the Lectio Divina method on a personal life experience. \nOur time together includes periods of silent prayer\, such as Centering Prayer\, to support the praying of Holy Scripture. Profound silence helps us open our hearts and minds to hear with the ear of our hearts both the presented conference materials and the scripture we pray. \nTo Register\, go to: https://forms.gle/jjHAU9j3TqUgFMs86 \nAfter registration expect two emails. One sent in the near future confirming your registration. A second email will arrive the week of August 2 with a link to the retreat Zoom meeting. \nPlease consider making a donation to Contemplative Outreach here. \nFor additional information email Nancy Stimac. \nPresenter Training\nSaturday\, August 8\, 2020 @ 4:15 – 5:15 PM CDT\nWhen the Immersion Retreat concludes\, the service team will offer presenter training for qualified participants. One must be a Contemplative Outreach commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer. To learn more about this presenter training\, please email Mike Potter.

SUMMARY:Touching into the Sacred: A Contemplative Centering Prayer Weekend
DESCRIPTION:This weekend\, anchored in silence and Centering Prayer\, will offer opportunities to connect with ourselves\, with God\, and with others\, surrounded by the summer beauty of the Connecticut shore. The schedule will include three Centering Prayer sessions\, an overview of the practice\, evening prayer\, lectio divina\, and other contemplative practices. Remaining hours are unscheduled for private prayer and reflection. \nThe retreat will begin with dinner on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. and end by noon after a closing session on Sunday. All meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be in silence. No previous experience with Centering Prayer is required\, however\, if you are new to a silent retreat or Centering Prayer\, please contact either Claire (crusowicz@hotmail.com) or Anne (asimpkinson@gmail.com) before you register.
