SUMMARY:Contemplative Living I: Contemplative Practices in Daily Life - via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:This four-month long online course is experiential\, guiding participants to deepen their experience of the abiding presence of God by cultivating their contemplative capacities. Participants will learn and integrate contemplative spiritual practices into daily life within a community of seekers through monthly meetings\, a weekly online prayer chapel\, personal practices\, and monthly Holy Listening Circles (group spiritual direction). \nContemplative practices are the doorway into the gift of contemplative prayer\, where the journey that begins in the silence of our hearts leads us into the heart of God. As we cultivate contemplative practices in ordinary daily life\, we begin to experience oneness with God and all creation. \nPlease see the link below.

SUMMARY:Presence\, Prayer\, and Writing From the Heart: A Contemplative Writing Retreat
DESCRIPTION:We are never closer to our Creator than when we are creating. In writing\, we engage in God’s infinite creative impulse to birth the new\, the unexpected. Silence and stillness can assist that process by opening a portal to inner depths where we connect to ourselves\, to others\, to God\, and all of creation. \nAll of us have myriad stories to tell\, but some of us are compelled to share them through writing. Our stories can take many forms—memoir\, essay\, poem\, blog posts\, or journal entries—but the most compelling are the ones written from the heart\, those that touch and move us and sometimes transform both the writer and reader. Writing from the heart demands attentiveness\, honesty\, courage\, and a commitment to engage with a creative process that pulls us into the unknown\, where we are often surprised at what surfaces. It’s a journey of discovery. And what can help are presence and prayer. \nThis contemplative writing retreat will braid Centering Prayer sessions\, brief talks\, writing prompts\, and story sharing. There will also be time to walk the grounds\, read\, and rest. Come listen to the still small voice and find the stories that need to be voiced. \nPlease see the link below for more information and to register.

SUMMARY:Unknowable – Surrendering Faithfully to Wonder (via Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:  \nPresented by Rick Klein \nMight our many societal\, cultural and world problems be viewed as a crises of faith? \nIn this thought-provoking presentation\, Rick Klein offers insight into an often unseen dilemma that lies at the heart of many of today’s dualistic sociopolitical issues: The decline of faith and the rise of beliefs. \nThrough an exploration of the historical roots and evolving history of humanity’s attempts to answer life’s ultimate questions of meaning and purpose\, Rick describes what happens when beliefs replace faith. Ask yourself: \nIs my “Big-picture-of-all-that-is Worldview” grounded in abundance or scarcity?\nIs it grounded in love or fear?\nIs it based on unknowable faith or the certainty of beliefs? \nRick builds on teachings from Karen Armstrong\, Richard Rohr\, Thomas Keating and others to demonstrate how the fundamental first step on the spiritual journey lies in re-discovering faith in a world full of competing and conflicting beliefs. In the process\, we’ll discover how compassion\, forgiveness and inclusion become practices of contemplation and meditation when done through the eyes of faith. \nJoin us as we explore how the ultimate knowing in life resides in the humble act of unknowing. Surrendering faithfully to the unknowable\, we are able see the abundant wonder of the universe and ourselves. This presentation will include a Centering Prayer session. \nThis presentation – Unknowable – is the final presentation in Rick’s Un-Trilogy series\, which includes Unfinished and Unchanging. Combined\, the three presentations are offered as an ongoing contemplative adventure into the realms of “faith\, hope and love.” If you missed the previous presentations\, you can still register for Unknowable as it is a unique presentation and stands on its own. If you’d like to see Unfinished and Unchanging\, you may order on our website. \nRecording Note: This event will be recorded. All registrants will receive a copy of the Zoom recording within two weeks of the event. \nTimes listed are Mountain Time\, Denver\, Colorado \nClick the website link below to learn more and register. Scholarships are available.
