SUMMARY:Learning and Opening to the Body’s Experience of Living in God
DESCRIPTION:Jesuits\, Fr. Edwin McMahon and Fr. Peter Campbell\, incorporated the embodied practice of Focusing into the larger context of BioSpirituality. Their work allows us to know ourselves as parts of the greater Whole\, the Body of Christ. This weekend opens us to experience BioSpiritual Focusing and explore\, among other things\, the embodied experience of grace and becoming a living expression of love. We’ll learn to reconnect to ourselves\, one another\, and to God\, the Reality in whom we live and move and have our being. \nThis retreat includes sessions of Centering Prayer. \nPlease see the link below for more information and to register.

SUMMARY:Flowing Oneness: The Contemplative Vision of Thomas Keating
DESCRIPTION:  \nIn this eagerly awaited Centering Prayer teaching retreat\, Centering Prayer master teachers David Frenette and Cynthia Bourgeault once again team up to explore the late teachings of Fr. Thomas Keating and what they have to offer our own continuing spiritual evolution today. \nAs Thomas more and more fully embraced his nondual awakening\, he began to write and see from a perspective rarely attained in the Christian mystical tradition\, significantly “growing” the Christian spiritual roadmap in the direction of his signature brand of “flowing oneness.” \nThrough teaching\, dialogue\, guided meditations — and mostly through the practice of Centering Prayer itself — David and Cynthia will jointly explore how he charts this new course —and more important\, how he has planted practical seeds to bring our practice of Centering Prayer to the next level. \nPracticing Centering Prayer in light of the God of unity consciousness grounds us\, more and more\, in a reality that cannot be shaken by the crises of separation\, disruption\, and disintegration we are living through. From greater oneness through Centering Prayer flows the subtlety of contemplative service: God in us serving God in others. \nCommuter option available. Please see the link below for more information and to register. \n

SUMMARY:Rabbi Jamie Arnold and Laura Berman: Psalms as Sources of Personal Solace\, Interfaith Solidarity\, Service and Joy - via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Our Spring Conference is a hybrid presentation conducted both in person at The Center for Contemplative Living in Denver\, CO and online via Zoom. Breakfast snacks and a light lunch will be provided for in-person participants. The conference is a community fund-raising event for The Center and helps fund program development\, provide scholarships\, fuel community outreach and maintain our spiritual home. We hope you can join us. \nDescription of Talk: \nThis year’s spring conference\, “Psalms as Sources of Personal Solace\, Interfaith Solidarity\, Service and Joy\,” features teachers and musicians\, Rabbi Jamie Arnold and Laura Berman\, sharing compelling insights about the psalms\, practical guidance for contemplative practice\, and meaningful small group interactions to foster our sense of community and belonging. We’ll enjoy gorgeous\, heartful\, prayerful soulful music and\, of course\, space for sacred silence. Rabbi Jamie and Laura are no strangers to The Center for Contemplative Living\, having led sessions (and a seder) in recent years that have been very well received. \nPresentation topics include: \nReclaiming Psalm Recitation as Spiritual Practice — An overview of the types of psalms and their uses: poetry\, peace (Saul)\, prophesy and mystical union.\nChristian Perspectives — Solitude & Silence\, Solidarity & Service.\nPsalm 23: Recitation as Meditation — A deep dive into “The Lord is my shepherd….”\nTwo sessions of Centering Prayer will be included in the conference. \nNote: We recognize the tremendous uncertainty and division in our country right now and want to suggest that The Psalms have been a gateway for healing and reconciliation throughout the ages and can be for us now. This presentation will take place in proximity to countrywide protests as well as oppression and violence in numerous places in the world. We invite you to be with us this day to hold it all—together—as we allow the psalms and music to take us deeper into the pain and grief of this time and transform it into love for the benefit of all. \n“We are called to this journey not just for our own personal growth\, but also for the sake of the whole human community.”\n– Fr. Thomas Keating \nAbout Jamie Arnold and Laura Berman \nJamie Arnold has served as the rabbi for Congregation Beth Evergreen since 2005 and is a core faculty member of The Kabbalah Experience in Denver. For the last five years\, he has partnered with the gifted musician and prayer leader\, Laura Berman to create unforgettable\, transformative experiences for interfaith groups. Laura currently serves as the Music Director for the flagship Mile Hi Church in Lakewood. \nRecording Note: All registrants will receive access to the Zoom recording link. This recording will be available within two weeks of the event. \nTimes Listed are Mountain Time\, Denver\, Colorado \nRegister using the website link below.
