SUMMARY:Opening to God’s Being and Becoming - via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:2-part Online Centering Prayer Retreat Series \nGod — the source of true joy and lasting peace — is not outside or at a distance from us. God is the very source and ground of our being\, closer than breath. \nAs the anonymous author of The Cloud of Unknowing writes\, “God is your being.” \nAcross two spacious online retreats\, we will explore Centering Prayer as a way of opening to both the Being and Becoming of God within us. First\, resting more deeply in Divine Presence\, and then allowing the Presence to take form in the way we live. \nThis is a 2-Part Retreat Series\, taking place Saturday October 24 & November 21st. You can register for just one of the retreats if you wish to via a link on the registration page. \nRetreat One: BEING: Exploring consenting to the Presence\, rooting into the Ground of Being within. \nRetreat two: BECOMING: Exploring consenting to God’s activity\, the unfolding of God’s life within us. \nJoin for one or both retreats.\nLed by Keith Kristich \nPlease see the link below to register.

SUMMARY:Contemplative Retreat: Five- or Eight-Day Centering Prayer Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Centering Prayer is a form of Christian silent meditation rooted in the self-emptying love that forms the heart of Jesus’ teaching and life. This retreat is an opportunity to deepen one’s contemplative journey in the contemporary world. The retreat offers two tracks: a five-day track\, recommended for individuals with an established and regular practice of Centering Prayer\, and an eight-day track\, intended for those who have maintained a regular practice of Centering Prayer and previously participated in an intensive retreat. The intensive and post-intensive tracks are available for the five-day; only the post-intensive track for the eight-day. The Intensive Retreat includes the human condition teachings of Fr. Thomas Keating. \nThe retreat has two options:\nFive-Day: October 26-30\, 2026\nEight-Day: October 26 – November 2\, 2026 \nThe retreat begins for all tracks on Monday\, October 26\, with check-in from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A welcome session will follow at 4:15 PM and optional Vespers at 5:00 PM.\n The retreat concludes at 10:00 AM on the final day for both tracks. SUMMARY:Praying with the Aramaic Jesus: Finding Inspiration and Purpose (via Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Joy Andrews Hayter \nYou all are shining radiance\, flowing together in time outside of time. Let go of trying to define or limit yourselves\, boxing in the radiance within: but let your inner light bear witness to the Holy within you\, shining forth all around you. —Matthew 5:14-15\, an interpretation from the Peshitta* text in Aramaic \nAs you read the passage above\, how does it sit with you? What sensations\, feelings\, images come up for you? \nWe already know that the words of Jesus are full of inspiration and advice on how to live a life with purpose and meaning\, anchored in the Living One. When we look at the words from the Aramaic—the language Jesus spoke—even more dimensionality shines forth\, almost like a prism that splits white light into its many colors. These additional dimensions tell us about our wholeness\, our oneness with the divine\, and about the love that can shine through us\, illuminating and inspiring our neighbors. \nYou might be wondering how this version of scripture above emerged so differently from what we read in a standard bible. The roots of many Aramaic words have multiple meanings\, inviting us to multiple levels of inference and exploration. In particular\, when we approach these readings with a deeper consciousness\, we may find these interpretations to be delightful fruit for our prayer life—our intimate walk with Ultimate Reality. \nIn this experiential presentation\, Joy will: \nShare how Jesus and his followers used Aramaic in their time.\nLead us in chants using the Aramaic language so we can explore the language’s pure sounds as Jesus (“Yeshua” in Aramaic) would have heard them.\nExplore two scripture verses with us in the style of Lectio Divina\, with a time for sharing.\nOur time together will also include 20 minutes of Centering Prayer. \nThis experience may inspire you to discover more dimensions within your own being\, and provide insight into how we might express the love that Yeshua encourages us to share. This presentation will include a Centering Prayer session. \nRecording Note: This event will be recorded. All registrants will receive a copy of the Zoom recording within two weeks of the event. \nTimes listed are Mountain Time\, Denver\, Colorado \nClick the website link below to learn more and register. Scholarships are available.

SUMMARY:A Friar in the Kitchen: Practicing the Presence of God with Brother Lawrence
DESCRIPTION:These days there are a plethora of books on topics such as ordinary mysticism or finding God in everyday life\, and they all owe a huge debt of gratitude to the one who started the trend in the mid-17th century: Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection\, who was born into humble circumstances in Herimenil\, Lorraine\, in 1614. Assigned to cook and wash pots and pans in the kitchen of a monastery just outside Paris at the age of 28\, Brother Lawrence regularly stopped working for a moment throughout the day and\, despite the many hardships he suffered\, continually lifted his heart to God in thankfulness for his life and its many blessings. \nIn this three-hour retreat\, we will learn how Brother Lawrence drew ever closer to God and his fellow friars by worshiping and welcoming the Divine presence at every opportunity–at work\, and even during corporate prayer. The spiritual maxims and letters in his bestselling little book\, The Practice of the Presence of God\, provide a template for how we too might walk in his discalced footsteps almost five centuries later. \nMeet the Presenter\nThe Rev. Tim Grayson’s contemplative journey began in his early twenties when he took a course in Transcendental Meditation. An Episcopal priest\, he has had a lifelong interest in Christian mysticism and has practiced Centering Prayer for 14 years. As well as serving on the coordinating committee of COMW\, Tim is a board member of Listening Hearts Ministries and enjoys leading retreats for both organizations.

SUMMARY:Removing Obstacles for Transformation...Moving Toward Union
DESCRIPTION:“When we are not thinking\, analyzing\, or planning\, and place ourselves in the presence of God we open ourselves to the content of the unconscious.”\n– Thomas Keating \nWhat keeps us from the presence that we know is always with and through us? We will create the space in meditative exercise and silence for the work of the Divine Therapist to meet the obstacles and let go. Optional group lectio allows God to speak to us in the depth of prayer without words. This inner work benefits all of creation. \nLocated at Siena Center in Racine Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan \nPlease see the link below.

SUMMARY:I AM – the sacred doorway of the Aramaic Heart of Jesus (in-person and online)
DESCRIPTION:The seven “I AM” statements in John’s Gospel reveal Jesus’ identity. Through Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz’s heart-centered Aramaic lens\, they also illuminate our own identity and path to deeper Divine Presence. \nThis Christian contemplative day explores these sayings with a focus on Presence\, belonging\, and connection to God. We’ll engage through guided reflection\, chant\, embodied awareness\, and quiet prayer—listening for each phrase’s living resonance in an unhurried\, nurturing space. \nThis program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. \nThis program will include a morning and an afternoon session of Centering Prayer. \nAll are warmly welcome to rest\, receive\, and rediscover these timeless teachings. \nTimes listed below are in Eastern (New York) Time.

SUMMARY:Contemplative Living II: Daily Life as Prayer - via Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Further enrich your contemplative living and embrace the practice of living each day as a form of prayer. In Contemplativing Living I (CL I)\, the focus was on deepening your interior prayer life\, leading to the awareness of God’s presence in all that is. The interior life cultivated in CL I brings you to greater humility and vulnerability and lowers your defenses. You might think of it as standing naked before the God of Love. \nIn Contemplative Living II (CL II)\, the focus shifts towards increased intentionality in how you are living your daily life. You likely have a better understanding of what blocks you in deepening your relationship with God\, others\, and even with yourself. You are now more capable of looking at your part in relationships and what gets in the way of being and becoming the person God created you to be. Building on the contemplative practice learned in CL I\, in CL II you will assess where you are in your life and how you can make choices aligning with your authentic self. \nPlease see the link below.

SUMMARY:God of Evolution: From Earth Community to Omega Love — Thomas Berry and Ilia Delio in Dialogue (in person and online)
DESCRIPTION:What if evolution is the arena of God’s presence? This contemplative workshop explores the converging visions of Thomas Berry and Ilia Delio\, who invite a faith spacious enough for science\, Earth\, and cosmos. Berry awakens us to the sacred Earth community and our place within the universe’s unfolding story. Delio\, drawing on evolutionary science and the Franciscan tradition\, proclaims Christ as Omega Love at the heart of an unfinished universe. Through reflection\, dialogue\, and practice\, we will explore evolution as sacred story and ecological healing as spiritual conversion. \nThis program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. \nThis program will include morning and afternoon sessions of Centering Prayer. \nTimes listed below are in Eastern (New York) Time.

SUMMARY:The Body as a Place of Encounter with God (in-person and online)
DESCRIPTION:Rediscovering the Lost Body‑Connection within Christian Spirituality draws participants into the heart of Edwin McMahon and Peter Campbell’s pioneering vision of BioSpirituality. Grounded in Christian wisdom\, psychology\, and contemplative practice\, this day explores how the body is a primary place of encounter with God. Through gentle teaching\, guided BioSpiritual Focusing exercises\, and shared reflection\, participants begin learning to listen to their body’s felt knowing\, welcoming the gift of arising grace\, and rediscovering themselves as interconnected\, living cells within the Whole Body of Christ. \nThis program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. \nThis program will include morning and afternoon sessions of Centering Prayer. SUMMARY:Cosmogenesis: Awakening Faith in an Evolving Universe (in-person and online)
DESCRIPTION:This contemplative day invites participants into the sacred story of cosmogenesis—the unfolding of the universe as a dynamic expression of divine love. Ilia Delio\, who has pioneered this evolutionary vision\, will offer her foundational perspectives as she guides our exploration of creation as ongoing\, Christ as the heart of an evolving cosmos\, and faith as conscious participation in Love’s becoming. Through reflection\, silence\, and shared inquiry\, we will reimagine prayer\, belonging\, and hope within an unfinished universe alive with God’s presence \nThis program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. \nThis program will include a morning and an afternoon session of Centering Prayer.  Times listed below are Eastern (New York) time.
