SUMMARY:Meister Eckhart’s Insights in the Context of Centering Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Contemplative Enrichment Day with Fr. Justin Lanier \nFr. Justin Lanier will look at Meister Eckhart’s teachings on the Divine Nature and Detachment/Releasement\, as well as his teaching In Principio as helpful guides to Centering Prayer in subtle awareness and intention. Special attention will be paid to unstuckness experienced through the experiences of “Letting Be” and “Be Surrender” encountered by Fr. Justin’s practice of Centering Prayer. \nThis program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance. \nThis program will include a morning and an afternoon session of Centering Prayer. \nFr. Justin Lanier serves as Priest and Curate of Saint Clement’s Church\, Philadelphia. He is a retreat leader with a devotion to intensive contemplative immersion practice. Fr. Justin’s reading of Meister Eckhart at 16 inspired his contemplative vocation and study of philosophy and theology\, as well as his entrance into monastic formation in Saint Benedict’s Trappist Monastery in Snowmass\, Colorado. Fr. Justin spent 22 years practicing under Fr. Thomas Keating\, O.C.S.O.\, where Eckhart’s teachings were always part of formation. \nPlease use the link below to register.
