Please pray for Mr. Emmanuel Littlejohn who is scheduled to be executed in Oklahoma next September 26. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board has already recommended clemency towards him; his life is now in the hands of Governor Kevin Stitt who has to decide if he will follow the recommendations of the board (and save Mr. Littlejohn’s life) or not. But it seems the stress is already taking a toll on Mr. Littlejohn and his health is declining. This is a message shared by his spiritual advisor in a Facebook group dedicated to the abolition of the death penalty in the US.
Friends.
Emmanuel Littlejohn is asking for our prayers. For some time, Littlejohn has had extremely high blood pressure, been unable to get up and down unassisted, needed to use a wheelchair, been experiencing blood sugar problems and is prone to falling. In the past few days, Littlejohn has been in and out of the medical unit. I have been in near constant communication with Littlejohn and his cellmate, Raymond Johnson. This is an extremely fluid situation. Of course, Littlejohn’s stress level is exceptionally high based on his pending execution date of September 26. Littlejohn has been in regular touch with his family. They have provided immeasurable comfort and encouragement for him to keep going. We pray that Governor Kevin Stitt will realize the severity of Littlejohn’s condition, the disproportionate nature of his sentence and the high probability that Littlejohn has never killed anyone…and grant him clemency. There is absolutely no reason to kill this man. It is one of the great pleasures of my life to serve my dear friend Littlejohn as his spiritual advisor and I’m asking all who read this to join me in praying for his wellbeing.
