To Practice:
- Make it your intention this week to notice how you pay attention. Where does your attention go? What filters it? Without judgment, notice and learn through this self-inquiry. When you can remember, return your attention to the area of your heart in stillness and spaciousness.
- Pay attention to the ‘thin places’ – liminal promptings of the Spirit, coincidences or God-winks, a sense of Presence in the ordinary. Our contemplative practices encourage our new operating system to open and mature to these exchanges.
- Pray for help each day to ‘ye watchers and ye holy ones.’ Be in relationship with the luminous web of Being.

I have been asked, “where was and is joy in your life?” Well, it was and is everywhere. In the people, places and experiences that have made me who I am, taught me the truth beyond the facts. Some of this didn’t feel “joyful” at the time. But seen through the lens of the heart and spoken in the depths of the soul, each becomes permeated with joy. Even a seemingly forsaken place like Muleshoe, Texas with gigantic flies and ever blowing dust had joy, especially when remembered from a distance. 😊

When I could go alone into the forest and surrender to the forest. Can’t do that anymore but I can do CP
when I could go to to the Carmelite chapel near me and be alone – but not alone. Can’t do thst anymore; bishop closed the convent. But I can do Cp.

Paying attention to liminal thin places this week helped me realize how truly connected we all re as one. Some of my friends know just when to reach out. In turn, I know when to stop doing what I thought “needed” to do, instead to do what Spirit informed me “needs doing now”. It has been a wonderful week with “ye watchers and ye holy ones” alongside. <3 linda

These past two weeks I have been aware of thin places, my being is propelled into joy and delight, right down into my unique place “you are created into my image and likeness”; moments of liberation that this is not all about me. This next chapter Adeline-unfolding, it’s okay that my final report will give no concrete actions, only words of launching, trusting that the Indwelling Spirit has the plan and can will orchestrate all those listening, as I am, to the Indwelling Spirit at work bearing the fruit of our collaborative consenting, this movement awaiting/allowing/accepting/attending. An examen of “noticing how I pay attention” is a further humble owning of multitasking and flights into fancy of this long taproot of my egoic happiness program. So grateful for the glue of these words from Psalm 18: ‘The Lord is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, source of me salvation, my stronghold.”
