A Memorial Prayer Vigil
November 16 - 17, 2018
|March 7, 1923 - October 25, 2018|
In gratitude and reverence, please join in silence and stillness to honor our beloved founder and spiritual guide. This 24-hour vigil coincides with the memorial for Fr. Thomas in Denver, Colorado, co-hosted by the monks of St. Benedict's and Contemplative Outreach. You may sign-up for one or more 30-minute sessions, either as an individual or as a group. (In order to see segments in your timezone, you must be logged in. Otherwise you will see times in the US Eastern Standard Time Zone.) If you'd like, you can join others in the online video Peace Chapel during your timeslot. Simply click this link to join when your time comes.
In his last weeks and days, this prayer was read to Fr. Thomas at his request:
I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures –
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrendermyself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father.
- Charles de Foucauld, The Prayer of Abandonment
