Fr. Carl J. Arico reviews the four guidelines of Centering Prayer as a meditation on how these guidelines teach us to live and be as contemplatives in the world. Filmed at the retreat house at St. Benedict’s Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado, each of these four video segments reviews and then moves beyond the four guidelines, exploring the wisdom of each as it applies to daily life, the insights of John of the Cross and the power of Lectio Divina (the praying of Scripture). Topics include the power of words, the embodiment of the consent, the freedom in letting go and the vastness of the present moment embracing the presence and action of the Holy Trinity in our lives.
The first video segment, “Words,” is the one recommended to use for the 2016 United in Prayer Day.
