Simply stated, Centering Prayer is a sacred time, in a sacred place, using a sacred word. You simply sit down, close your eyes and allow the Spirit of God to work within you – and to stay there. So, it’s really just a very simple method of prayer, but it has profound effects because you are not trying to control what you’re doing. You’re allowing God to live and breathe inside of you and you’re opening to the Spirit during that time. So, it’s really just sitting quietly, sitting quietly with your eyes closed. And the method of Centering Prayer helps us do that. It helps us stay seated. So, it’s a very simple prayer.
