Sr. Bernadette had formed a Contemplative Outreach right here in Denver and it was due to that that I learned about Centering Prayer and began the practice. It’s manifested in relationships – not only my relationship with my wife and my friends and colleagues and people here in the Center [Denver] – but even in my relationship with myself. I would say that I’ve learned to navigate through life better as a result of my Centering Prayer practice and just have a lot more appreciation daily and gratitude. I was one of those people that Thomas talks about that went to India to try to find a meditation or a contemplative practice and so for me to find it right here in our own Judeo-Christian tradition and have it right here in Colorado was like ‘coming home’ for me.
