Heartfulness is a term coined by Thomas Keating when asked once to describe Centering Prayer. He said that while various Buddhist meditations were aimed at ‘mindfulness’, Centering Prayer, as a prayer of relationship and consent, is a prayer of ‘heartfulness,’ the opening of mind, heart, the total ground of being, to union with God, and the action through flows from that union. Heartfulness then became the name of a series of recent teachings from Thomas Keating, captured on video over several days. These teachings are now encapsulated in various products sold in our store.
