Entering the Bridal Chamber of the Heart: The Luminous Gospels

This retreat will explore the Christian Wisdom tradition, focusing on the extracanonical Gospels of Thomas and Mary Magdalene. These so-called Luminous Gospels came to light in the mid-20th century and provide new insight into the development of early Christianity, the foundations of Jesus’ teaching, and the authority of Mary Magdalene as an Apostle. Come join us on the journey as we spend time within a contemplative framework of silent prayer, teaching, chanting, lectio divina, and heart-centered, whole-body practice.

Presented by: The Reverend Matthew Wright is an Episcopal priest, retreat leader, and long-time student of Cynthia Bourgeault. He serves as priest-in-charge at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Woodstock, NY and as a teacher for Northeast Wisdom and the Contemplative Society, non-profits dedicated to the renewal of the Christian Wisdom tradition.
