Welcoming Prayer Workshop: Consent-On-The-Go

The Welcoming Prayer is an incarnational method of consenting to God’s presence and action in the physical and emotional reactions arising in daily life. This “consent-on-the-go” embodied practice deepens our relationship with God as we move through the ordinary activities of our day, helping us to stay in the presence of God and the present moment.
This workshop will cover the human condition – what gets in the way of living harmoniously in the present and Presence – and the basics of the practice. There will be guided practice sessions as well as one period of silence in Centering Prayer. It’s okay if you don’t have a Centering Prayer practice; we can introduce it to you if you wish to participate during this section.
Pamela Begeman will lead the workshop. Pamela is a daily practitioner and commissioned presenter of both Centering Prayer and the Welcoming Prayer. As a communications and program staff person for the international office of Contemplative Outreach for over 25 years, she co-creates and facilitates many of the online retreats, spiritual enrichment programs and communications. She also leads Centering Prayer retreats and contemplative workshops around the U.S. Her daily spiritual practices root her in the present and Presence while being an active wife, mother, grandmother and artist.
It is very helpful to purchase the “Welcoming Prayer: Consent on the Go” 40-day praxis booklet from Contemplative Outreach to support your practice after the workshop ends in your own daily life. It is available in either a hardcopy booklet for $35 or a digital PDF for $10.
Please bring your own brown-bag lunch the day of the workshop. The workshop is free; a basket will be available for love offerings.
If you have any, please email [email protected]. Please see the link below to register.
