My mum has back mental health issues, now. She is scary and hard to deal with a lot of the time. My mum threatens things, sometimes she means it, other times she doesn’t, usually she doesn’t. My mum gets angry very easily. It is worse when she tells dad or I to get out (usually she doesn’t mean it). She gets paranoid easily. When she says to do things, lately, it is hard to keep up with her, and it is a miracle, if it gets all done. They are other things but will take too long to explain. She needs mental help, and I think she is refusing the mental hospital. My dad has medical issues, he doesn’t need this, I hope he is well enough to get me to places that I need to go, in the future. I hope that my dad gets well enough to do things, again, and that my mum be less of a total jerk with issues. I also hope there will be no Canadian Election, in the near future.

Praying over your requests, Ashley: For your mother to get better, to be at peace, to get the help she needs and to be able to accept it; For your father to get the healing he needs from his medical issues and for all your family to be blessed and protected, to live in peace in God’s grace, love and light. May you all have the help and support needed. 🙏

• Raphaël, who was clothed as a novice last Sunday.• The retreatants, spiritual guides, and supervisors who will soon take part in a retreat at Saint-Hugues de Biviers (Isère) in the Alps.
• The Christians in China, who are suffering severe persecution — including harassment and imprisonment.
• Gratitude for Angi’s funeral, which was a gentle and tender farewell.
• For the gift of peace to reign in each heart—for peace in the world begins with peace within ourselves

I have ten chronic health issues for decades. All but one of them are treatment resistant. I’ve tried every known medication for anxiety, depression, IBS, migraines, insomnia, etc. and nothing helps. I’ve done various spiritual practices, seen trauma therapists and nothing helps. I had a Christ awakening five months ago and have been reading my Bible, praying and starting a Centering Prayer practice recently. I believe all of the medical issues are tied to childhood sexual trauma by my father and the only way I will heal is to heal my broken heart, spirit, soul and then body. Thanks.

Praying for you, Gary. May our Lord bless you and grant you the healing that your heart, spirit, soul and body need. May the One who said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” ease your heart and free your whole being from the pain and trauma you’ve been carrying for so long. In the name of Jesus. Amen. 🙏
P.S.: The Serenity Prayer has helped me accept some childhood trauma and find peace. I post it here for you, hoping it will help:
God,
Grant me the Serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.

• For Sabrina, who is beginning the catechumenate on Saturday, though uncertain whether she will be able to receive Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist, as her situation does not fully align with Church requirements. May the Spirit guide and sustain her.
• For the retreat Claire will lead at the Hélène and Jean Bastaire Centre (Lot) at the end of this week, focused on Maurice Zundel and integral ecology. May it be a time of deep reflection and renewal.• For the 17 retreatants who have just completed a week of centering prayer at Bernard’s monastery—may they continue in their practice with faith and perseverance.

• With gratitude for the beautiful and gentle Quebecois autumn, a sign of peace and stillness in the heart of creation.
• Prayers are requested for Angi, who recently passed away from a brain tumour. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 14th. Let us also remember her partner Maureen, who cared for her with love and devotion.
• Prayers also for Bruno, who died aged 77 without any known next of kin. His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 16th. May his soul pass in peace to the next life.

For Jason and Diane—healing of body, heart, and memory.
For inner stillness beneath the noise, and courage to walk in truth.
For trust to deepen where old fear once lived.
For love to become safe again.
Let silence speak what words cannot.
Let grace do what striving cannot.
We place this in the stream of the great surrender. -

I really appreciate this beautiful space where we can share our thoughts and prayer requests openly. Reading through everyone’s experiences has been a reminder of how important it is to seek both strength and guidance in times of struggle. Personally, I’ve been dealing with a heavy academic workload lately, which often leaves me stressed. Finding support whether it’s through prayer circles like this or even practical things like assignment help has made me realize that we don’t need to carry challenges alone. Grateful for this community and sending positive prayers and healing thoughts to each of you here.

He used to pray, but now says he is agnostic. My prayer request is for Trevor to have renewed interest in God and faith, and for this move to be successful and comfortable for him. Nothing is easy for Trevor. Advice has to be given delicately and sparingly. Please join me in prayer for my brother Trevor who I love so very much.

I’ve been living what honestly feels like earthly purgatory. For the last five years, I’ve worked full-timeOn a fixed Friday through Tuesday. That means every weekend, every holiday that falls in that window—no rotation, no flexibility.
Because of that, I’ve missed everything. Holidays, family milestones, Mass, time to rest, time to breathe. I haven’t had a full Christmas or Easter with my family in five years. Mass is nearly impossible unless I get off exactly on time.
This past year gave me one rare grace: Christmas Eve fell on a Tuesday and Christmas Day on a Wednesday—my regular days off. I got to spend Christmas Eve with my boyfriend’s family, and had Christmas Day off for the first time in years. It reminded me what peace could feel like.
But other than that? I’ve used all my PTO last year for my sister’s wedding. The years before that, it all went to my brother’s wedding and his kids’ baptisms and birthdays. I gave with love—but I was left with nothing for myself. No rest. No retreat. Just exhaustion.
This year, my birthday falls on a Wednesday—my scheduled day off. I didn’t think to request it off. But then they scheduled a mandatory meeting for that day, and told us missing it is a fireable offense. So that day’s gone too. And I’m tired of watching everything meaningful on my calendar get crossed out in red ink.
I’ve worked hard to set boundaries. I don’t let guilt push me into working holidays on my scheduled days off anymore. I will never work Thanksgiving there again. But even when I show up to family events, the cost of getting there is rarely acknowledged. I sacrifice sleep, church, mental space—just to be present—and I still end up invisible.
I’ve reached the point where I sometimes let things slide—not out of laziness, but because I’ve run out of fight. I’ve dealt with the same entitled people so many times that it feels pointless to correct them, especially on days when I feel lucky to get a lunch break… I don’t care anymore. That’s how tired I am.
And the part that hurts the most is this: I’m tired of telling myself, “I won’t still be here next [holiday],” when I don’t know if that’s even true anymore. I used to say it with hope. Now I say it to survive. But that lie is starting to feel heavier than the truth.
I live paycheck to paycheck in a job that feels thankless and spiritually draining. Even with support from my parents and careful spending, I’m stretched—financially, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
So I give it to Jesus. Every lost hour, every unacknowledged sacrifice, every piece of myself I’ve spent to make things work. I place it under His Precious Blood and into His Most Sacred Heart, because I know He sees me. I know He’s not asking me to carry this alone. And I believe He has more for me than survival.
Please pray that God opens a door. Not just any door—but one that leads to a job where I can rest, worship, spend time with my family, be present for Mass, and stop feeling like a ghost in my own story.
—
And I’m seeking the intercession of:
Our Lady—Undoer of Knots, of Good Success, of the Impossible, She Who Shows the Way, and of the Thunderbolt
My Guardian Angel—my first friend who knew me before I even existed, because I need help I can’t see and protection when I forget I need it
St. Joseph—because I want to work and live with quiet strength, not silent suffering
St. Cajetan—because I need a new job, and I need it to be life-giving, not soul-sucking
St. Homobonus—because I want just work and need work-life balance, not survival math
St. Zita—for strength on the days when quitting sounds easier than continuing
St. Bernadette—for healing via the intercession of Mary in the places I’ve ignored for too long
St. Catherine of Siena, St. Teresa of Ávila, and St. Margaret Clitheroe—because living in truth, with conviction, while everyone around you stays silent takes real courage
St. Jude, St. Rita, St. Philomena, and St. Expeditus—because this feels impossible and I need heaven to move—St. Expeditus, please make it happen as soon as God allows
St. Anthony the Wonder Worker—for all the time, energy, and identity I’ve lost to this job
St. Jane Frances de Chantal and St. Hedwig—because I know what it’s like to be the one who shows up, stretches, and still goes unseen
Sts. Joachim and Anne—for time with my grandparents while I still have it, and because I know they would die happy if our family could be united again
St. Michael the Archangel—for protection from every oppressive force trying to silence, diminish, or control me
St. Benedict—for peace in a place filled with spiritual noise and manipulation
St. Thomas More—for integrity when speaking truth has consequences
St. John Bosco—for leaders who lead with compassion, not control
Servant of God Madeleine Delbrêl—for hidden holiness, offered in the middle of chaos
St. Cecilia, my patron—tune the instrument of my life so that it finally sings instead of strains
St. John the Baptist—lessen my doubt, help me firmly know and believe things will change very soon
St. Dymphna—because I need mental clarity and protection from the slow erosion of burnout. I’m already unraveling and have admitted to being in a high functioning burnout
St. Kateri Tekakwitha—for grace when you’re the only one walking a quiet, faithful path
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati—for joy and freedom in faith even when the world feels heavy
St. André Bessette—for strength in my invisible labors
St. Monica—for patient hope that my family will one day see what I see
St. Padre Pio—for grace in silent, unseen suffering
St. Philip Neri—for joy and warmth in the places where heaviness has taken over
Servant of God Walter Ciszek—because he lived in true earthly purgatory, yet never lost faith. I ask him to pray for me as I walk through my ownPlease pray that I not only leave this job—but that I get out soon. I’ve stayed longer than I thought possible, and this experience—this earthly purgatory—has stretched me, broken me, refined me, and most of all, taught me to trust God more than I ever thought I could. I know now that I can’t rely on systems, policies, or people to rescue me—only Him. And I believe with everything in me that He will open a door. I just need your prayers to help me walk through it when it comes.
With trust, exhaustion, and hope,
Amanda-

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30.
Praying for you, Amanda, to get all the rest needed to get out of the exhaustion state you are in right now and for God to open a new door for you, bringing you a job that respects the needs of both your body and your soul. May He also give you the courage to walk through this door to grab the opportunities He will bring you to make the changes required in your life in order to find peace and to live a healthy, joyful and balanced life, respectful of your deepest needs. 🙏
P.S.: The Serenity Prayer has helped me a lot when struggling with exhaustion, boundaries issues and fear (of change). I hope it helps you as well:
God,
Grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.

My 40 year old son, Harrison, suffers from major depression and is a recovering alcoholic. He is three years sober and moving forward in his life but still suffers deeply from depression which colors his entire outlook on himself and his future. Please help us pray for his release from the demon of depression and alcoholism. Thank you.

Praying for your son Harrison to heal from the depression he is experiencing as well as from alcoholism. May our Lord bless him, transform him and fill him with peace, love and joy, renewing his heart and giving him a new positive outlook on himself and on his future, filled with hope and light. And may our Lord bless you, Robin, and give you peace and comfort as well. 🙏

For Sabrina, a catechumen, who is experiencing inner conflict as she lives with a partner who is divorced and was married in the Church.
For Bernadette, who is accompanying her, and who wishes to do so without anger or judgment. For a family torn apart by power struggles, who must now come to an agreement about the future care of their 90-year-old mother. May understanding and unity prevail.
For the children of Holocaust survivors, whose lives continue to be impacted by the deep wounds carried by their parents. May healing flow across generations.
With gratitude for Nicole, who had distanced herself from the Church due to doctrinal disagreements, but is now showing a renewed openness—through her interest in the rosary and liturgical celebrations—on a gentle path back to faith.
For people of colour who are immigrants in the United States.

Let us pray for peace: peace among nations, peace within communities, and peace wherever it is so deeply lacking.

Prayer Request for My Nephew – Surgery and Healing Journey
Dear Contemplative Community,
I humbly ask for your continued prayers for my 40-year-old nephew, who lives in Romania and will undergo surgery on his right femur this July 4th. This is one of many operations he has faced since a devastating fall from a great height on February 8, 2025. Against all odds, he survived. The soft ground from several days of rain have helped lessen the impact, and we are deeply grateful he is still with us.
He has endured multiple internal procedures, a broken arm, legs, and now faces the likelihood of future joint replacements. His recovery has been long and filled with uncertainty, yet also marked by moments of deep grace and resilience.
Please also hold in your heart his devoted family—his brothers, sister and elderly mother—who have been by his side through each step of this journey.
We trust in the mercy and healing presence of God to continue unfolding. Thank you for keeping this beloved family in your contemplative prayer. Your spiritual support is a profound gift to us.
With gratitude,
A Fellow Traveler in Faith

For wisdom to understand my role in my 24 year old daughter Sophia’s life. She is filled with rage and anger and has isolated herself from the family and is homeless and turning to destructive behavior. She seems to be following a self fulfilling road to destruction. My heart feels crushed and so hopeless. Alanon is helping but it is a painful undercurrent in my life. I need peace because the stress is making me sick.

I feel for you and for your daughter, Mary Beth. I pray for both Sophia and you to find peace very soon. May you also have the wisdom you need to understand your role in your daughter’s life. The serenity prayer has been a wonderful help to me. You probably know it from the Alanon group, but I post it here in case you need it:
God,
Grant me the Serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.

I request prayers to heal my sense of not belonging, deep ongoing loneliness and habitual inner recrimination.
My prayer is to feel God’s presence, to find the discipline within to sit quietly knowing Jesus as my brother and accept my life as it is, to believe I have something to give, to be all I can be and to cease self-judgement so I may become Love in action.
Please.

Please pray for Lauren, mother of 3 of my grandchildren whose parents are lapsed catholics and did not have her baptised or brought up in the faith
She therefore does not have any real idea of God. Recently she tried to commit suicide and my son, who no longer lives with her but lives with me, is now looking after the children. He too has lapsed. Please pray for all of them, them, that all may come to know and love Jesus and that Lauren and the children become baptised and Tom returns to the faith. Many, many thanks. -

Please pray for Angi, 71, who is facing terminal brain cancer, and for her partner Maureen, 90, who is doing her best to care for her. The situation is particularly challenging, as Angi’s illness sometimes causes aggressive behavior, making it difficult for Maureen to provide the support she wants to offer. May they both receive the comfort, strength, and care of God’s loving presence during this difficult time.

Please pray for Amy. She has binge eating disorder, diabetes, severe depression. She needs a wheelchair and is being fitted for it in a couple of weeks. Insurance companies take so long to approve these big purchases. It would give her more mobility to ride the ADA Transit to explore other employment opportunities. She is a career coach who has to work virtually

Blessed “Little Christmas! and New Year!
Please offer prayers for my aunt Trudy who suffered several strokes and seizures the day after Christmas and remains in the hospital and the family is gathering – for her and for her family, who just lost their father in Oct.
Please offer prayers for Agnes, who suffered a heart attack in July, and has congestive heart failure. For her strength and blessing as well as her families as they alternate providing 24/7 care for her.
Please offer prayers for my cousin Laurie, as she is now on the top of the donor list after several years, for a new kidney and for the donor and their family as well when the time comes.
Prayers for restored Peace and Healing around our world as well as serving the needs of the immigrants and those in war torn areas – and every blessing and grace for the Centering Prayer communities near and far.
With Sincere Appreciation,

Prayers please:
My sister Rosemarie, 89, suffers from severe CDOP + plummeting B.P. Came home after a 5 day emergency hospitalization in time for Thanksgiving. Back again following a fall in which she suffered a Labral tear on a hip replacement several years ago. Her daughter, Melanie, in rehab herself for a 3-bone ankle break ( on August 29, she had to wait 3 weeks for an available O. Surgeon) . From her rehab, Melanie will get to the hospital where her mom is tomorrow to make a decision for care. One possible hospital transfer to Glenrose has refused to receive my sister because she is on oxygen.
Melanie’s children, Nicolette(Nikki), 28, married to Leo an Argentinian, and Christopher, 23 have a big load on their hands ( I can’t forget the 4 dogs, known as the grand-dogs). Nikki works undercover for the Edmonton Police and writes all their public announcements in French. Christopher is taking some kind of shop class, as a heavy duty mechanic, like his grandpa, Adelard Ouimet. Cherie, Mel’s sister, was murdered 2 years ago. The case has not been solved.
Rosemarie is a fiesty one. Between these two hospitalizations she had time to get winter tires on. To do all this she lugs around her oxygen tanks.
Also a prayer for the health care personnel stretched to their limit.
Many thanks, with loving kindness blessings,
Adeline

Please pray for Mr. Emmanuel Littlejohn who is scheduled to be executed in Oklahoma next September 26. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board has already recommended clemency towards him; his life is now in the hands of Governor Kevin Stitt who has to decide if he will follow the recommendations of the board (and save Mr. Littlejohn’s life) or not. But it seems the stress is already taking a toll on Mr. Littlejohn and his health is declining. This is a message shared by his spiritual advisor in a Facebook group dedicated to the abolition of the death penalty in the US.
Friends.
Emmanuel Littlejohn is asking for our prayers. For some time, Littlejohn has had extremely high blood pressure, been unable to get up and down unassisted, needed to use a wheelchair, been experiencing blood sugar problems and is prone to falling. In the past few days, Littlejohn has been in and out of the medical unit. I have been in near constant communication with Littlejohn and his cellmate, Raymond Johnson. This is an extremely fluid situation. Of course, Littlejohn’s stress level is exceptionally high based on his pending execution date of September 26. Littlejohn has been in regular touch with his family. They have provided immeasurable comfort and encouragement for him to keep going. We pray that Governor Kevin Stitt will realize the severity of Littlejohn’s condition, the disproportionate nature of his sentence and the high probability that Littlejohn has never killed anyone…and grant him clemency. There is absolutely no reason to kill this man. It is one of the great pleasures of my life to serve my dear friend Littlejohn as his spiritual advisor and I’m asking all who read this to join me in praying for his wellbeing.
– Rev. Dr. Jeff Hood

Blessings to all from the EU. I need prayer for some struggles I have been having. I am experiencing emotional flashbacks due to my complex-PTSD and they have been quite distressing. I also was recently diagnosed with autism in my late 30s, and autism heightens the complex-PTSD symptoms on top of the sensory issues I face. I have been unemployed after fleeing familial abuse in the US & have permanently left. I need God’s provision for ways to support myself financially given my disability and lack of relational support since I am starting over in the EU and prioritizing healing from years of abuse and poverty due to my undiagnosed autism, ADHD & complex-PTSD. My life has improved immensely since cutting out my abusive ex-family and leaving the dangerous environments I was in. I have centered my healing and God has opened doors for me find safe housing, food and space to rest from all I’ve been through. But, there are some challenges in starting this new life and I need more support. I finally feel ready to (with boundaries) be supported by others and not isolate due to the trauma. Thank you for your prayers as it is not easy to share my story in community. But I trust that God will work through the prayers of others who love Him. Blessings to you all.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>May God provide you with everything you need in order to start a new, peaceful and profoundly happy life in the EU. May He also grant you a complete healing from the trauma you’ve been through and all the support needed to blossom in this new environment.</p>
P.S.: I also had to leave a dysfunctional and abusive family a few years ago to start a new life far away from it. You can do it. But, please, also seek some help in person where you live. Could you get on some kind of disability pension where you are now? Autism, ADHD + complex-PTSD should meet the requirements for it. I’d say give yourself a chance, especially with everything you’ve been through, and accept whatever help is available for you where you live now. I’ll keep you in my prayers. 🙏

This prayer request came through the CO website:
“I belong to a centering prayer group locally, so we meet on zoom weekly but I do know most of the people . It has been beneficial to me. But I have great concerns about my daughter and her life situation. There needs to be help for her that is beyond my ability to give. I wish I could communicate with someone because the concerns for her are multi-faceted. At any rate, could prayers for help be given to Cathryn, my daughter and her partner Dylan, who is struggling deeply with depression. Peace and thank you. Ellie Ross”
