To Practice: Slowly re-read these passages aloud in the manner of Lectio Divina, hearing and feeling them in your body and senses. Gaze upon the image. What speaks to your heart? What is being called forth?

Last Tuesday, I shared a tai chi chih practice with an unusual group. The practice is offered each week at a mental health clinic that is used by mostly poor and sometimes homeless individuals. On this day there were two long time practitioners and one fairly new one. On speaker phone were two more who were at home with a sick daughter. In the middle of the circle was a small dog owned by one of the group. The only spoken words were mine as I gave the name of each movement. We moved together in silence for about 20 minutes. Even the dog relaxed and grew silent. For that brief time, we moved as one, sharing energy and silence . We ended with”Namaste” – “The light in me honors the light in you. “. We were as one – one practice, one energy, one prayer.

Sunday April 30: Everything Belongs
Am I serving to be “a channel of bringing Diving Love into the world”? Twenty minutes, twice a day clears out whatever detritus may be blocking my channel, as a plumber’s snake clears clogs and build up in drainpipes. No, I do not want to see what this unloading of the unconscious clears out, any more than what comes out of a clogged drain. It means I can keep my channel as open as I am able. I embrace Father Keating’s assertion that the Eternal Word may have manifested in other persons, those listed in this reflection and, perhaps, all humanity. May I be able to retain fidelity to the centering prayer practice. <3 linda
