Prayerfully re-read these passages again in the manner of Lectio Divina, reading them aloud to engage more of your senses and feel the vibrations in your body. Gaze at the image. What do you receive for your journey now?
Spend some time away from your usual environment: out on a nature trail, in a local park, near a waterway, or downtown. Find a place to sit in stillness and allow your attention to be drawn to something: a bird, a cloud, a building, a patch of wildflowers, a breeze. Welcome God’s communication to you through these bits of creation. Write about this encounter in your prayer journal or in the community forum.
Pray to and with the Holy Spirit through chant and music. Here are two offerings from the Taize community: “Veni Sancte Spiritus” (see the YouTube video with lyrics here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8yOAxWyfvA) and a multilingual version of “Veni Creator Spiritus” (see the YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPdMCyBmA-g ).
I spent time away from my usual environment out to lunch at a busy local eatery. I dined alone yet along with all present. My attention was drawn to those preparing our meals. They each had their roles and had worked together long enough to time their movements perfectly. This event brought Brother Lawrence’s experiences in his kitchen to mind: practicing the presence of God among the pots and pans. <3 linda
