      Practices

      • Prayerfully re-read these passages again in the manner of Lectio Divina, reading them aloud to engage more of your senses and feel the vibrations in your body. Gaze at the image. What do you receive for your journey now?
      • When you notice you are bracing, hardening and resisting what is, practice the Welcoming Prayer, feeling the sensations in your body and embracing the moment, and your experience, as it is.
      • As you encounter various forms of calamity in your life, personal and in your partnership with creation, don’t be afraid to embrace tears as Jesus did when he wept over Jerusalem, when he wept alone in the Garden. After shedding tears, like Jesus, we can return to living in love and trust.

“The absolutely certain help you can give to someone else is to work on yourself – that is, by loving more, becoming more humble, by trusting more.” Father Keating does not mince words. To first work on myself, loving myself better, humbly trusting and accepting God’s work in me, is not activity toward which I run each day. Yet it is only through this work that I can impact for love my closest loves and my corner of the world. For their sakes I humbly ask God to continue my wholemaking. <3 linda
