To Practice
– Take some time for Lectio Divina with the passages. Read the text slowly, allowing it to settle into your heart. As you listen, consider: Where in your life are you being called to humble service? Notice any resistance or reluctance that arises.
– Write a prayer that asks for the grace to embrace the way of the Suffering Servant and to move from resistance to trust in your daily life.If you wish, you may re-read the full email reflection here: https://mailchi.mp/coutreach/2024_word-of-the-week-oct20

I latched onto the term “tragic gap” in this week’s reading and couldn’t grasp what Parker Palmer meant by it. This short video helped clarify the term for me.

Our dearest loving God,
This week you really sent us, your little sunbeams of light, (upper left corner on image)
Down, down, down, we tumbled into, “when is enough enough?”
Long ago we said: “Yes, we can drink your cup.”
So inocently genuine.
Yes, we passed the test many, may times.
But this week, it wasn’t a test, we tumbled into, (lower right corner of image)
It was into the depths of our very beings.
into this passage way of recognition.
Your love the glue of our love.
And so we bow together, this little group of us,
GRATEFUL and BLESSED!
