      To Practice:

      • Prayerfully re-read these passages again in the manner of Lectio Divina, reading them aloud to engage more of your senses and feel the vibrations in your body. Gaze at the image. What do you receive for your journey now?
      • Examen: Reflect upon the year past and the year to come: what do you wish to leave behind? What do you wish to manifest?
      • If receiving Word of The Week has been a blessing to you throughout the year, you are invited to support this ministry of the heart by donating here.

If you would like to re-read the full email reflection, you may do so here: https://mailchi.mp/coutreach/2025_word-of-the-week-dec28

As 2025 draws to a close, my gaze is drawn to the center of “A Colossal Shell of Light” image from Hubble Space Telescope. Much darkness surrounds this cosmic beauty, bespeckled with bright shining points of light. The heat at its core still burns bright.

I, too, have had darkness as my companion. So many lives crossed into my world, bringing bright hope and deep joy. I wish to leave most of the darkness behind. I wish to manifest life at the center of my being where Love still burns bright. <3 linda

The recent scripture passage from The First Nations Translation was inspiring for me.

I have many friends here in Rhode Island who are politically active and very aware of the indigenous communities in our area and our shared history. I told them about our Christian contemplative community and how we share a committment to dialogue and collaboration with members of other denominations and faith traditions, as well as with people of different political viewpoints.

In all my years as a Christian, I had never been aware of a Native American translation of The New Testament.

The Word of the Week continues to be a vital source for me in deepening and broadening my vision of Christ as ALL IN ALL.

      Thanks.
