      To Practice

      • Prayerfully re-read these passages again in the manner of Lectio Divina, reading them aloud to engage more of your senses and feel the vibrations in your body. Gaze at the image. What do you receive for your journey now?
      • Reflective Visualisation: Embracing your Giftedness. Take some time, in a quiet space, to reflect on the story of the Wedding at Cana. Close your eyes and imagine yourself at the feast. Picture the moment Mary approaches Jesus and gently prompts him to act: “They have no more wine.” Visualise her turning to you, recognising your unique gifts and quietly encouraging you to step forward. Ask yourself: What are the gifts God has placed within me that I may hesitate to embrace or share? What “empty vessels” or needs do I see around me—opportunities to bring love, peace, or joy? What might stepping into my giftedness look like today, even in a small way? End the visualisation by offering a prayer of surrender, asking God for courage to embrace and share your gifts. Write down any insights or intentions that arise, and revisit them in the days ahead as a reminder of your call to participate in God’s transforming work of love.

I am struggling with attending a 5 day centering prayer retreat because I haven’t flown or arranged my own distant travel since 2017. I’m feeling self doubt  since Covid pandemic and in retirement, yet this is such a great opportunity to go to a place I’ve wanted to go by myself for some time. Todays meditation prompts help me to see my worrying and anxiety and  not my trust in God or my usual independence, curiosity and competence. I see this as an opportunity for a true pilgrimage of letting go…trusting a new adventure, Spiritual driven.

Thank you for sharing this powerful and simple example of stepping forward in trust and courage. I’m sure you will be richly blessed by doing so! – Pamela

These two sentences speak deeply to my journey: “Our work may not seem as miraculous as that of Jesus, but through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or quiet prayers, we offer what is needed most. In doing so, we become vessels of God’s love, filling the empty jars of the world.”

I have written lately of liminal spaces and find myself closing the door to my time in eastern Tennessee. An immanent relocation to a southern suburb of Phoenix, AZ beckons me forward. My jar filling here draws to a close. I pray my “acts of kindness, words of encouragement and quiet prayers” have aided healing those intended and sparked a bit of joy for God. <3 linda
